Infection Control

We are continually reviewing our practice to ensure we are in line with the health protection requirements and recommendations for school age childcare services.

We have undertaken risk assessments that set out how we meet the core public health requirements to:

  • ensure good hand hygiene and cleaning practices are followed.
  • following the advice for children and young people settings provided by Public Health Scotland (updated 2024) Public Health Scotland C&YP 2024

How can parents help us?

We ask that you let us know if your child’s absence from any session is due to illness or infectious condition. We are required to inform the Care Inspectorate of any outbreaks of infectious illnesses within the service and to liaise with Public Health Scotland when required.

How parents and carers can help

Most importantly please do not send your child to ASC if they are experiencing any symptoms of an infectious illness or if they have been advised to stay off school by a health care professional.

Thank you – it all helps to work towards providing the safest environment we can for the children and staff.
