Absence from ASC

Please let us know if your child will not be attending their session as planned. A register of children is taken as they arrive at ASC. In the event that a child does not arrive to a session and we have not been informed of their absence, the following procedure will be followed.

• The Playleader (PL) will check with the school office whether the child has been absent from school or collected early from school. A consent form will be completed by parents at the point of registration authorising ASC to make enquiries with the school. This is required by the school.
• If the school confirms the child was absent or collected early, a call will still be made to the parent to confirm their absence.
• The PL will contact the child’s parent/carer on the contact numbers provided on the registration form. If they do not answer, a message will be left on any voicemail asking that they contact ASC asap.
• If they are unable to make contact, the emergency contacts will be called to establish whether they are aware of any reason for the child’s absence
• If it is not possible to establish the child’s safety and whereabouts, the Police will be called on 999 and a missing child report will be made.
